Germination Tips

We recommend growing all seeds using high quality seed raising coir in seed trays on a heated propagation mat which will keep soil temperature between 25c and 32c, perfect for chilli seeds. Use fresh clean soil / tools and water using only warm tap water when surface is barely dry to avoid problems such as damping off of seedlings, but do not allow to dry out completely. Fertilizer is not required at this point but once seedlings are around a week old you can use a mild liquid fertilizer weekly. Keep soil moist but not dripping wet and avoid letting it dry out as this may kill seedlings if or stunt growth if not quickly rectified. A sunny position outside is fine if starting in warmer climates, but if you want to get a head start in winter or colder locations we highly recommend a small grow tent with a suitably sized LED plant light and fan to circulate air, before hardening plants gradually over a week before transplanting outside in Spring.

About Our Seeds

All of our chillis are grown using organic fertilizer in our own backyard and all of our seeds for sale come from these plants, grown with love by us. This way we can assure you get the correct variety you order as we harvest them by hand ourselves. They are mainly open pollinated as nature intended (rarely you may get an accidental cross) and Isolated seeds will be marked specifically. Varieties in early filial generation (F1, F2, etc.) may be unstable. When grown these plants may differ from pictured (colour or shape) due to genetic throwback or further mutation. Stability will increase the higher the filial generation and is detailed on product pages. We consider this a fun part of growing chillis and would love to see if you get a new mutation! We recommend planting multiple of these in development varieties to help assure you get the desired plant.
